Forgive my technical dyslexia - I thought I was actually quite computer literate but I have attempted to uninstall the Livebox, and all things related to Orange, from my laptop and all I seem to have done is lost the uninstall icon! Can someone please help with my questions?
1. What did I do wrong?
2. Can we fix it?
3. Does it actually matter if I can't?
Also can anyone who has cancelled their contract tell me how long they had to wait to get the return pouch for the livebox etc., and will I be able to tell when Orange have finally cleared my line?
Sorry to be so pathetically useless - I think the last eight weeks have turned my brain to mush!
Thanks, but it's not there! It's still appearing on the list of programs when I click on START but then I get a message that the program can't be accessed - don't know what I could have done - I'm not actually as stupid as this makes me sound, honestly!
Quite often when Programs are uninstalled, they leave broken links in the start menu which must be manually deleted.
About 50% of software does this in my experience, more if you chop and change your start menu.
The best thing to do is to look in your C:\ drive. I don't run Orange on this machine so I can't check, but I would imagine it is under C:\Program Files\ then Orange or OrangeBroadband or something similar.
If it either doesn't exist, or containes a few kilobytes of files like logs or saved profiles or saved settings, then I think it's fair enough to say that it has been uninstalled, and all remaining traces eg Orange folder on the hard drive and the program group on the start menu can be manually deleted.
