Something good to say about Orange at last.
1 Week ago, @ light suddenly started flashing fast and then slowly. Spent ages on 8 phone calls to the call centre in India getting the usual "checks" and getting nowhere. Got really fed up and decided it's time to leave Orange, and called support to ask for MAC code. They asked why, and when I told them the problem, and the fact that I couldn't understand the Guys in India they asked if I would give them 1 chance and speak to a tech support in England.
He went through all the checks again (and he called me back as promised) and he said it was a line fault. 6 hours later, the Livebox settled down and connection was restored. I was called by Orange to ask if all was now ok, then this morning a ring at the door, and a BT engineer said he had come to check the line.
Brilliant service this time. Just say you are leaving and things do happen. Orange also offered me a free month for my time off line and the cost of phone calls. Was I just lucky this time?

It's been said many times on here that if you can get a UK TS response, chances are the problem will get resolved quite quickly.....leave it with the Indian end and you may as well watch paint dry.
One thing that does surprise me is that BT turned up....sure the 2 were connected ?
far as I know the 2 were connected.
The BT engineer said he had come to investigate a line fault, and it was n't me who reported it.
Anyway he checked the line and said all was ok. Just hope it stays that way.

When I threatened to leave Orange after 6 weeks of talking to nuggets in India I got through to a delightful young man in the care team who had technical knowledge... he told me not to bother ringing the tech support number anymore and just ring the care team on 08448738586 and ask to speak to someone with technical knowledge rather than getting annoyed with the so-called 'technical help'!
