Is there a logical reason why my connection would drop out every time I use the phone handset on my main phone please? It doesn't happen when I use the upstairs handset, which is closest to my livebox, just the one that is downstairs and close to the main BT junction box.
I thought at first it was the phone and actually bought a new one but it's still happenening. The main phone is a BT cordless phone and answerphone.
I would also add that for several days my connection was dropping out every few minutes regardless of whether the phone was in use or not. However after to talking to Orange that issue seems to have been fixed. Fingers crossed.
Many thanks but I have filters on already, in every place they should be. This has been the case since I first got my livebox. I may try changing them and see if it makes any difference although I can't quite see why that should be the case.
Thank you again anyway for your reply.
Try unplugging all of the phones in the house apart from the 1 plugged into the main master socket.
If it cures the problem then you have too many phones connected.
The more phones you have the weaker the signal becomes as it divides between them all.
I've changed the filters and the connection is still dropping out.
I only have two phones Andy so I guess that's not the answer. Also this has only been happening this past week. It's never, ever been a problem before in the few years since I went broadband or since the broadband went to the livebox. The phone in use upstairs, where the PC is, but not in the same room, doesn't cause the problem, only the phone closest to the master socket.
Have you actually used new filters or just swapped them round? In the past I found a duff filter which gave problems whereever I put it - bought a couple of new ones - no further problems.
