For a long, long time now (at least a year, possibly much longer!) the phone-line from my Livebox has not been working. I assumed that the phone itself had gone wrong - and just never got around to looking at it. Today though, I finally got around to investigating (you can tell that I am really up to date with jobs, can't you?)! I plugged the phone into my other line - and found that it worked perfectly! Just to be certain, I tried plugging my main phone into the Livebox and, sure enough, that would not work. So, I guess the problem must either be with the Livebox or with the little phone adapter that was provided by Wanadoo when we first signed up for 'Wireless & Talk' way back in 2005.
Any ideas on what the problem might be - and how it can be remedied?
PS I was hurrying because my son wanted to use the computer, so I forgot to say that the phone light on the Livebox is lit up - but I cannot get the phone to work!
I went to my account page. I didn't see anything to suggest that it had been de-activated - but what I did see is that I seem to be on a broadband package described as 'Broadband at £17.99 fastest speed 2GB cap'. They are trying to get me to join one of their other packages, including the Home Starter which costs just 1p more!!!! Maybe I was meant to switch to an Orange package when they took over from Wanadoo - and lost my other phone line when I didn't do so! Does that sound a possibility?
It was interesting reading about the different packages. Am I right in thinking that, if I signed up for the Home Max, I would be switching from my present phone provider (BT) to Orange and that I would then have to pay no further line rental? The free calls to Orange mobiles does sound interesting, as both my husband, daughter and myself are with Orange on our mobiles. Perhaps we should consider it!

I believe it's only with Max that Orange take over the line fom BT and this package includes the rental.

I'm not sure of the T&Cs but if you're a pay monthly mobile customer, BB is either free or discounted.
