I have been an Orange customer for about 4 years now, and have had a previous issue last year with a speed control but this was removed from the line in January. I have now been having problems with the connection slowing from 2 meg down to about 0.7 meg and dropping.
I have replaced my equipment with the crap provided by Orange and plugged into the master socket but with no joy. I have rang Orange and spoke to them about the issue and I rang them back yesterday and they claim that the test ran by BT says it is my equipment at fault. I was told that it was definitely my PC at fault, but I know this is untrue as I have tried on several pc’s – one formatted that day and hardwired into the livebox just to make sure. As I am a technician with CISCO certification I have tried to tell Orange that I am a 100% convinced they are at fault, with no joy and this just seemed to annoy the bloke even more.
With the poor customer service I have received from Orange again I am considering moving my broadband over to eclipse even though i aparently have been given a free month. Any help/ ideas would be helpfull
You may have been restricted again - It seems that neither technical support, customer services or escalated faults department can tell if you have a restriction at the moment!!! (At least in my experience recently!!!)
Look for the obvious like on speedtester.BT.com look at your configured download rate or IP profile...
