I am sick and tired of Orange.net POP3 server failing to respond to Outlook Express.
For the past fortnight it has been on and off at whim.
The usual message is "Operation timed out - no response from the server".
This can happen over a period of hours/days and then suddenly right itself.
It is definitely something at "their" end as I have done nothing to change my settings. Webmail is fine.
The latest POP trouble started on the evening of Saturday Sep 27th and has been ongoing all night.
I complain to customer services and just get automated replies.

Just received this from Orange Customer Services ...
"Thank you for your mail regarding the pop server.
I was sorry to learn that you have experienced problems with the above and I apologise for the inconvenience caused.
I can confirm that we are aware of the difficulties you describe and our Technical Support are currently looking into this matter.
I trust it will be resolved in due course.
Please accept my apologies for any inconvenience caused."

The POP server did start working again several hours before this was received - it's nice to know they are "aware", it's their problem etc. but frustrating if you have no idea what's causing the difficulties AND you're waiting for your email!
