I have been using NTL for over 6 months now and not had a problem with the service.
But upon registering with them they could't spell my surname correctly. I asked them to change it. But, No, once it is in the system they can't change it as it is used throughout as your username and email address.
The spead of the line is fine. I have not looked up where the Exchange is located, but I live in Middlesbrough at the moment and i suspect it isn't that far away. I currently have the 2Mb connection and free telephone Line rental.
There are random service lags sometimes but thats normally due to mantainence.
As students we use the Internet quite a lot and frequently download over the limit but not by far, so have never been sent a letter about over usage.
A fellow Student also used NTL but had great problems with their service calling up the NTL staff cost lots can caused loads uneeded stress. So as long as you don't need to do that its fine
