I recently set up my Orange wireless connection after moving into a new house. used to have a fixed connection but the new house only has one telephone jack which is nowhere near the upstairs bedroom where we want the PC to be located. Belkin adapter is a G+(mimo) whatever that means. Anyway for whatever reason The Siemens Router and the Belkin adapter do not seem to want to communicate. I have managed to connect a few times but only after having to go through the process of "repairing the network" which switches the adapter off, then on , then attempts to connect and one in say 50 attempts will work and gets past the "renewing IP address" hurdle. The rest of the time no joy.
I really cannot understand what the problem is as the odd accasion that I can connect would lead me to assume that it is possible. The signal is always good or excellent and I can even see many of my neighbour's connections but it is very frustrating that I cannot connect to to my Orange Broadband.
Please, please could someone with more than my feeble knowledge of these things help me out. I am so frustrated with this!!!
Before you ask (like the Orange "helpline" (Don't get me started) ALL THE DAMN LIGHTS ARE ON!!!!!!!!!!!!
Not sure how to do that, Borednow. I am assuming it would be within the adapter software somewhere? Any suggestions as to which channel to use? Thanks for the advice though. That's already more than Orange have given.

This means there's nothing seriously wrong if you can actually connect albeit occasionally.
OK, tried changing the channel after getting lucky and being able to connect. problem persists, however. Are theore any precific channels I should try? Or is there anything else that coud be wrong in terms of settings etc?

Hold on, you don't need to be connected to the internet to access the Livebox config......are you saying you couldn't connect ? Have you tried an ethernet connection to check the function of the Livebox ?
