I've searched through the forums for the resolution to this problem and have found people referrring to speed touch however I cant find the post with the solution.
Anyway.
Thursday broadband worked fine, Friday morning no internet - called Orange told me to do a reset of the live box (replugged in as was on netgear) this didnt help but said synchronised next thing got the PPP server down. After numerous calls Orange confirmed that this is a problem with one of their servers and they would look at it.
Does anyone know what the problem is? How they resolve it or what I can do!!! Its drivine me mental.....
Already done all of the 'out of the box' orange technical support - doesn't work. Its just to fill time. I've reset, unplugged replugged, recabled x 10 they then did a line test - back on Saturday morning.....
They admit the problems their side but won't give a time when it will be fixed just said could take five days. In an industry this hightech 5 days or more is not acceptable.
Others have the fault so surely there must be a common cause, known cause or trend for this to happen but it still goes on.

basicly ppp server down is you livebox is not authenicating with the bb servers
try a different modem if ya can also might work
but the normal fix is raise a fault and it gets fixed. if your provision on llu system good luck with getting it fixed if bored works for Orange aswell hell be able to tell ya what a nightmare llu is
its a long shot but ask Orange what system your on if ya on IPStream you might be stuck in a stale session it really is a long shot but BT have done this a lot lately

Hi Tech, thanks for the comments, what is LLU ? It rings a bell as I saw it on a setting or maybe a forum (ive read so many so lost what was on what!). To be fair the call centre have been very courteous and surprisingly understanding once you remove the atonomy from them.
I've trid another modem - a netgear DSG something or other however this didn't work either (normally on netgear as livebox wireless is s**t).
I'll ask if on IPStream to see if that is my problem.
Update:
Just had Orange on telling me that the problem is related to a PPS server being down and needing to be restored - this could take upto 48 hours to resolve so we shall have to sit and wait i'm afraid.
