Last October (2007) I decided to upgrade my broadband package so that I could make free phone calls using the Orange livebox. To date THIS HAS BEEN THE BIGGEST MISTAKE OF MY LIFE! (all 55 years) I made numberous calls to register my phone but no 2nd line number was ever e mailed. So when I received a bill for nearly £170 instead of my usual £19.99 I queried it with Orange customer services. They said the extra charges were for calls made on my second line. To cut a long and monotonus story short they investigated and confirmed that indeed the calls were not made by me. This problem started in March and the calls continued till July - I WAS STILL BEING BILLED - It was finally agreed that I should be given a full refund of £287.72 which would be credited on 11th August. GREAT I thought ALL SORTED.
HOW WRONG COULD I BE? Today I phoned to ask why the money had not been refunded and was told that my bank would not accept the refund but that Orange would post a cheque to me. I AGREED TO THIS PROVIDED A CHEQUE WAS SENT TODAY BY FIRST CLASS MAIL.
But true to form Orange could not do this and I have to wait another 28 days before I get my refund. THIS IS DAYLIGHT ROBBERY.
PLEASE DO NOT SWITCH TO Orange IS MY ADVICE.

Knowing, as you do now, that Orange are sometimes frugal with the truth, have you checked with your bank as to why they refused the payment ?
I'm not saying Orange are fobbing you off (which they are also very adept at doing) but I don't accept anything is true when stated verbally by Orange.
When it's in writing, that's a whole different bucket of balls.
Hopefully we can all do a pyramid thing here - if each disgruntled Orange customer knows 2 or 3 other disgruntled customers and encourages them all to leave, and this keeps going, then their customer numbers will plummet like a stone
