Last week I decided to call Orange and ask for my MAC code, have been with them for about 7 years and was still paying £17.99.
Better deals to be had elsewhere so.......
Of course they offered me a retention deal; 6 months free, £9.99 there after and free 2nd line anytime and international calls.
I gave it some thought and only because of the free calls I decided to go ahead and take the offer. ( have family abroad so could save a lot of money on the calls)
After trying to activate the 2nd line through the automated service - with no luck - I phoned them and it was activated there and then.
I checked again about the free calls and was told I would only get free evening and weekend calls.
After explaining that I was told I would get there anytime calls and that it was the only reason I stayed all I got was, sorry no can do unless you want to pay £9.99 extra.
Feel like I`ve been had and don`t know if there`s anything I can change about it?!
Any advise?
I phoned them again this pm, after reading the letter they send me confirming the new contract. ( which also states the free calls)
Was told this is a standard letter, so no relevance to my package.
He said I schouldn`t have been promised the calls and unless I was prepared to pay more there was nothing they could do.
When I said; so it looks like I have been had, his reply was; looks like it.
Will try to ask for the recording of the call and see what they say!

Are you sure that the free evening and weekend calls aren't for your primary (non VOIP) line? The deal on the current Home Max service is that you get free international, Orange mobile and UK geographic lines 24/7 with Second Line, but the primary line charging is as you describe.
