Hey, if anyone can help me with this problem i will marry them. I've been trying to connect my XBOX 360 with the Orange Livebox with an XBOX 360 wireless adapter. I've tried every method i could think off, like turning the security off, using the pairing mode WEP key WPA key and all that stuff. But i just can't seem to get a connection, it keep geting Failed IP address.
So does anyone have any ideas how can i get a connection?
"It depends on how your router is rigged up with security etc. My advice would be to disable the security until you get the adapter working.
Am assuming you can get the 360 to work WIRED to the router. If you haven't done this then get it working wired first.
On the 360 make sure in network settings it is set to automatically obtain IP an DNS addresses.
On your router make sure it is set as a dchp server. If you have access control ticked in wireless settings this means that only devices which can access your router HAVE to be in the approved list. You will need to find the MAC address for both the adapter and the 360. The adapter's MAC address will be printed on it and the 360's can be found as follows.
Start up 360 without a game/eject game
Got to system
Network settings
Edit settings
Scroll right to additional settings
Scroll down to advanced settings Host name alternate MAC address
Its there at the bottom were it says wired MAC address
But an easier way for me would be if you got a router, click on attached devices on the router WITHOUT the 360 plugged in. Make a note of all the addreses in there. Switch the 360 on plug it in the router, click attached devices again and the extra MAC address will be the 360."
