I've had no trouble with the livebox before until now when my internet just decides to stop working, all the lights stay the same as normal and wireless works but the connection goes down and it can't be detected in my operating system (vista). I know there are issues with it in vista but like i said it used to work perfectly.
Any help is useful, thanks.
Also i can't install with the liveCD as when it asks for my account information it just stops the installation and quits the disk.
I am getting the same issue. Just moved into new house and had Orange transfer broadband from my old place. Every night around 10pm I loose my Livebox from my small network - cant ping the Livebox IP address from my wired PC, and when I check the livebox, the red lights have become static. It can be fixed by interupting the power supply to reset the livebox, or believe it or not - by unplugging the connection from the line filter from the BT socket and reconnecting - must cause the box to reset in some way! Not sure what Orange are playing at but it has done it for 3 nights on the run now around the same time.
Yes unplugging the cable will cause it to re-synch to the exchange.
A workmate has 10pm disconnections too. Very annoying for him when he's playing WoW
Im really getting f'ked off with this now... I have this exact same problem and its getting worse. I started about 4-5 months ago and gradually got worse.. now 2-3 times every day and at completely random intervals. It the same on both the wired and wireless connections with different OS's All the lights say eveything is fine on the live box but can't connect to the internet.
In network and sharing center in vista it show connected to network but not connected to internet. Sometimes I can log into the live box admin but resetting the internet connection through this doesnt work. Rebooting computers doesnt work. The only way to get my connection back is unplug the livebox and let it reboot..
TBH I think my problems started round about the last firmware update for the livebox.
This problem is very annoying and unnacceptable... but what will Orange do about it.. Porb same pathetic excuses. the last prob i had took 9 MONTHS!!! yes 9 months to fix and only because I complained to ispa AND told them how to fix it!
I have always randomly lost my connection a couple of times a night. When checking available wireless networks the Livebox is always there, but takes 2 or 3 minutes to reconnect automatically, which I have just put up with.
Recently bought my daughter a very cheap new desktop which is connectect wirelessly (running Vista) and have noticed that when the laptop randomly losses its connection (wireless running XP), that the desktop still maintains its connection.
Therefore have come to the conclusion that my problem is nothing to do with Orange or the Livebox, (probably a first !!!), but to do with my wireless device in the laptop.
