Yes, I know you want to talk about all the problems you've been having but remember, when BTwas trying to get you to "go wireless for £25", good old Wanadoo/Orange were just giving Liveboxes away, totally free, no strings attached. Except perhaps a contract for a year. And a monthly subscription. Well, alright, we were SOLD the idea, but just think: we went wireless for nothing! Now, isn't that a boon?
Now, now, no whining please. And those of you who thought that connecting to the World Wide Web was all about freedom, think again. Our friends at Wanadoo/Orange know so well how to make life more... well, more interesting! Oh come on, who amongst you really wants to Plug and Play? You can leave those shenanigans for the bedroom. Here in Wanado/Orange land you'll need a degree and half a lifetime to properly experience and comprehend the full range of challenging "issues" that stand between you and your goal: connecting to the Internet! So easy to say isn't it? Yet, with our Lord and Gamemaster, Wanadoo/Orange oh, so hard to do. He has ensured that, whether the issues relate to the hardware, the software, or the myriad customer service representatives spread througout the land - and even in a far-distant land where you may find an interpreter handy in properly understanding what's going on - He , I say, has ensured that his Game will continue to keep us all occupied for some time to come.
Those of you who have, like me, by the Grace of the Lord and Master , managed to fight your way onto this Information Superhighway, may find, like me, that yet more challenges await you. For instance, if, like me, you were sold the Game on the strength of the awesome 8Mb powers that would be yours once connected, you may well discover, like me, that the you're not as powerful as you'd hoped to be. I only have 2Mb powers, so the thrill of feeling my way, blind, through the labyrinth of LLU Networks still awaits me! Beware, those of you who follow in my path! For the legend of the monster from Planet BT who lies in wait for you on this perilous journey, is not 'legend' at all. I smell his stench, I hear him roar!
Oh, stop whinging! You think that, just because I still pay my Lord and Master for 8Mb powers, whilst only getting 2Mb, is grounds for complaint? Wake up! This mission is sacred! Never let it be said that we have been sold MUTTON as LAMB. Such heretics would do well to remember that Surfing , like all sinful indulgences, comes at a cost, as much to the spirit and soul as to the bank balance!
