I have had issues with my wireless livebox since I first started it a couple of months ago, every week or so the wireless light becomes static and I have to log back in to the config pages and untick 'easy wifi pairing' at least I think that's what it's called, that usually brings it back, then a week later when the same thing happens again I have to tick the easy pairing again and that brings it back, I don't understand but it seems to hold it together doing this back and forth thing, obviously holding dwn the '1' button does approximately nothing, Until today, I go to make the change and now my admin/admin, username/password is not being accepted (I haven't changed it) so I can't make any changes. Fortunately my ethernet from the livebox (usually) to my desktop remains when the wireless goes which stops me losing my mind but still, I'd like to be able to use my laptop, that's why I bought it.
Anyway anyone know why the username and password would spontaneously not be correct?

Can you sign on from the desktop via the ethernet connection ?
No I couldn't, it's the desktop I use to 'speak to my livebox' and make any changes, I don't think I would be able to do anything from my laptop. Anyway, for the interest of any others who experience this, I googled and found that I would need to do a factory reset on the livebox to get the admin/admin working again, which I hate having to do because then I run the risk of losing wireless AND ethernet connection to the damn livebox, anyway, I did it and fortunately it worked and I was able to log in using admin/admin and change my settings.
Interestingly I have realised my fault seems to be linked to the 'network area 2 cable is unplugged' error message that I have been getting for a few months now. I used to get it when I was using only my desktop and speedtouch modem but it didn't affect my connection but the livebox seems very sensitive and when I get the 'network cable is unplugged' error message it seems to cause the problems with my wireless. It stops all my connections briefly and when they come back my wireless settings are gone and need changing. I have googled again and it seems to be not an uncommon problem but I'm no computer whizz so some of the things to try are a bit beyond me sadly.
Also interestingly since this latest mishap, and the factory reset the pairing light has stopped flashing and is now static but wireless seems to be working anyway.... it's beyond me?
