Go into the livebox. Start- All Programs ý Wanadoo ý Configure the Livebox.
The default user name and password are Admin for both.
Click on the Security tab on the left.
Click on Firewall and click on the low (disable firewall) radio button. Press submit.
Click on the Configuration tab on the left, then the Wireless tab and No Security. Press submit
Click on the Wireless Connection tab, and make sure that the Enable Wireless box is ticked.
(One point here, if you have not tried to to configure the DS before, the MAC address of the DS will not be in the Associated Devises list.) I do not know how it gets there, other than if you have tried to it previously.
When trying to attach a third party wireless to the Livebox you MUST input manually. Do no try to do it automatically as some have suggested, as it WILL NOT work. If you try to do it auto mode then the Gateway and IP Address settings will be wrong, and you will get the message that it cannot find IP address. You MUST NOT use the gateway address that is in the system information section of the Livebox, you must use the Liveboxýs LAN Address, this also is in the system information section of the Livebox.
Now on the DS, go to the Nintendo WFC, then Nintendo WFC settings, then Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection Settings and pick one of the connections to use. (At this point I searched for the access point. The DS found it but it would not work. If you do this the SSID will Be Broadband and you can put in the rest manually) put in the following information:
SSID Wanadoo-C651
WEP Key 26 letters and numbers found underneath livebox, or in the Livebox Settings (use caps lock and no gaps).
Auto Obtain IP address, set to NO
IP address, 192.168.1.200 (This the one I have used as it is within the range DHCP Start Address 192.168.1.9. and DHCP end address 192.168.1.200)
Subnet Mask, 255.255.255.0
Gateway, 192.168.1.1 (this is the liveboxýs LAN IP address not the Gateway address)
Auto obtain DNS, set this to NO
Primary DNS, 192.92.195.94
Secondary DNS, 192.92.195.95
All these can be found in the system information section in the livebox settings tab.
Now go back to the livebox and press Button 1 at the back of the livebox, this will put the livebox into pairing mode.
On the DS now press the test button at the top of the bottom screen.
If it fails, switch off the DS, go back in to the WFC settings, do not make any changes to the settings and try the test button again.
If successful, you will get the message that the test is successful.
