Hello, been looking to improve my ps3 performance when online gaming. a speed test shows a d/l of 3.5 a u/p of 0.38 with a ping of 320m/s. i think it's the ping that is creating the massive lag i get. i was booted off 6 times yesterday and i'm getting fed up of watching people jumping around...anyone got any ideas?
the ps3 is in a DMZ and i've tried wired/wireless. the wired is slightly better. from the the pc the speedtest is shown below
usually i get between 3-5 Mbps download, 0.38 Upload with latency around 50m/s
so why would the ps3 be so much slower? especially in the latency result. or is this just the ps3 browser?
from btspeedtest:
Test1 comprises of Best Effort Test: -provides background information.
Your DSL connection rate: 7616 kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 448 kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP profile for your line is - 6500 kbps
Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 714 kbps
Is the livebox allocating a slower connection to the ps3? can the line cope with the load? at this rate the livebox will be thrown out...or not! used next door neighbours line and got pretty much the same stats.
my friend came around with his ps3, slaved it into my connection...bang! ping of 43m/s!
