I was trying to reply to the topic a bit further down but for some reason the reply button isn't there?!?!
Anyway i have successfully added the printer onto my desktop pc which is running vista and connected via ethernet cable.
I cant however get my laptop running xp to connect to it wirelessly. I can print if the desktop is on through shared printing but cannot get it to work if the desktop is off.
I tried following the guide in the other thread but i dont seem to have the add wireless printer option.
The two i get are:
local printer attached to this computer
and
network printer or printer attached to another computer.
i have finally managed to get it working by using an ethernet cable to connect the laptop to the network and installing the same way. It then worked both wired and wirelessly.
Anyone have any ideas as to why it was not installing wirelessly though?
it actually works fine now. My only query was why i had to install it with a wired connection to get it to work. As soon as i did that it also worked wirelessly. It would not however install wirelessly.
