I have Orange broadband, formerly wanadoo. We had 2mb under Wanadoo this dropped to 1 with Orange. The service has been very patchy and of late it has been difficult to access.
I use Google as our homepage. I have found that changing the homepage to Orange gets us the service, changing back to Google we can not access broadband.
I wonder if others having difficulty with patchy service have their homepage other than Orange?
Had this issue last night also, 3 different laptops, problems connecting with both IE and Firefox, though could access the Orange.co.uk site. Could connect to some sites, but connection was painfully slow and most sites couldn't connect to (timed out I guess?).
The SAME known problems are being repeated time and again since at least early 2006.
One thing that is for sure, Orange do not learn from their mistakes and problems......probably because staff turnover is so high, all the "new" problems have never been seen before by the current workforce therefore they haven't an answer.
Sorry about the 'problem solver' We finally lost all Broadband. We phoned today and was told that the service was Down.
There was a time when Orange home page got some results when Google home page would not.

PS I am signed up for 18months so no quick get out. Wasted my time with them at the start telling them that the speed had halved from previous service.
my sister just phoned me saying she has a connection working with Orange but the internet just is not working, page cannot be displayed etc. checked everything is normal, so, it must be Orange. is the server down even though it says on their website everything is working fine right now? they are really annoying me

3 Nights running between 5 pm and 8pm and I cannot get online through my Orange account. 2 hrs and no reply from Cust Serv.
I did read it was long serving customers who had old Freeserve / Wanadoo accounts that were suffering.
Can't get through to anyone so I can't cancel unless I stop my Direct Debit like they stopped my connection. This is really frustrating. I HOPE ANY POTENTIAL CUSTOMERS ARE READING THESE MAILS!

If you call Orange customer services, select the broadband option and then select the 'thinking of leaving Orange' option you will be able to request your MAC code. They will ask you why. They will also give you the option to revieve it by post or by email. I got mine two days after I asked for it.
