I have two computers - one is connected directly to the Livebox, no problems here.
The other computer, in another room has been connected wirelessly to the Livebox successfully for nearly 2 years. Suddenly the connection has disappeared.
I just do not know what to do. When I open the Network connections it shows the Belkin as being disabled, firewalled, etc. When I try to enable it says there is no network being picked up.
I think I have the same problem than you, since approximatively the same day (BTW I live in Oxford area, just in case of geographical correlation).
Everything was working fine until then, I could connect my desktop (Windows XP) using Wifi to my livebox 2B84 type, thanks to my D-Link DWL-G122 (C1 type).
Then suddenly, impossible for my desktop to connect itself to my lvbx. In the same time, my son has no problem to wifi connect to the lvbx with his Vista laptop, and me too no problem to access internet using wired connection with my laptop to the lvbx.
To be noticed that by default my lvbx transmit a wifi signal which is WPA-PSK TKIP encrypted. I tried to fix the problem by my own, by resetting the D-Link USB adapter using different ways (Windows XP utility, then D-Link utility), then unstalling D-Link drivers + Orange lvbx, several times each, still without success. I called Orange support and their answer was "this is not an Orange USB wifi adapter, see that with D-Link support" ... despite I was telling them it worked properly in the same setup for more than one year that I have NO problem at all to connect myself from the same desktop, using the same D-Link adapter to my neighbour (non secured wifi network ... yes, I know, not well, risky but just for test purpose).
I finally even reformatted my disk and re-installed all from scratch, and still impossible to connect my lvbx through wifi, where I have no pb to access my neighbour non secured wifi network (again test purpose only).
I am very disappointed of the service quality provided to me by Orange.
I already had two other problems with Orange (talsk service not being activated because of technical problem during ~ 5 months, then Orange smtp server not accessible -I finished creating a gmail account and using gmail smtp server !-).
Well not sure it will help you, but as I begin to become dry of ideas how to fix my problem (having had a look on several different forums), at least good to share. Maybe someone will give us the solution to our problem.
Hi,
I decided to uninstall the Belkin software, and then I opened the back and made sure all the wires were okay. Put it all back together, installed the software again and it is working.
Not sure why!! Let's see how long it lasts.
