I can receive emails but not send them in windows mail using my email account. im using the fololowing:
Vista
Virgin Media Broadband
Virgin PC Guard
e-mail address is *****@orange.net
my windows mail settings are:
pop.orange.net
smtp.orange.net
incoming mail works fine i get this error message when trying to send:
Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity. Subject 'Re: Welcome to your new hosting account! chaddesdenanglingcentre.co.uk', Account: 'David', Server: 'smtp.orange.net', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F
this appears to be a problem which almost everyone is suffering. The following is advice posted to my own query by 'borednow', which i have done and which has solved my problem- for the time being!
note what is in incoming POP3 and outgoing SMTP - in case you need to change them back.
change POP3 to 193.252.22.136
change SMTP to 193.252.22.138
click OK
the only problem I am now having, is that doing this appears to have done something to the junk mail filters, as now everything is coming into Outlook Express regardless ie not being caught by the Webmail fitlers. Any ideas, anyone, please?
