I have been with good old Orange for 11 months now, and yes I AM going to jump ship as soon as my 12 month contract is up!
I’ve got to know all of the problems with VOIP over the Livebox in my time, people not hearing me when I call, calls taking for ever to establish after dialling, poor quality speech circuit etc etc.
Best yet however - I had to call ACAS re a work related problem last week, and I must have dialled about 10-12 time for two days running, only to receive a recorded message each time saying all ACAS operators were busy and please call back. I called at various times throughout the two days but never once got a connection.
The next time I tried, for some reason I grabbed my mobile instead of the Orange Livebox phone, and got through immediately on my first try.
I know for a fact that anyone who has caller ID never sees my real BT number, apparently we appear as an international call or some other unknown ID.
So I wasted two precious days trying to call ACAS using Orange, when all the time it was their rubbish Livebox VOIP connection at fault! I proved this after speaking with ACAS by calling again via Orange and got the same busy message. I assume ACAS reject any non-UK based calls, hence my problem.
Has anyone else had this problem, or am I just lucky?
