For the past 3 weeks I have been unable to connect wirelessly to my livebox. The PC with the ethernet works fine but the Xbox and laptop just dont seem to connect. I have done the usual pairing tasks, factory reset the livebox. Even deleted my connections and started from new. I tried laptop and xbox at a friends house (also on Orange) and up and running in minutes. The only possible thing left is that the router is faulty. Bearing in mind that it must be 3 years old now and has the Wanadoo logo on it then "wear and tear" sounds about right to me. Anyway, having emailed Orange (I want a written audit trail), they seem to believe that there is nothing wrong with it and if I can connect with wires then there is nothing wrong with it. How am I to get a replacement livebox?
Can they detect the livebox? If so it's unlikely to be faulty.
Have you tried changing channels? You need to work through and try them all as interference and signal problems are the biggest common problem with wireless.
Trying your devices somewhere else proves they work but doing the same with the livebox would help to see if it's a signal problem where it's normally placed.
You think it could have something to do with that Easypair thing Elhana? Could have something to do with the firmware update?? Even though that was a lot longer than 3 weeks.. It took a while to update.. Try switching Easypair off in your Livebox Config..
Cheers both. Changing to Channel 7 seems to have worked. For now anyway! If we pay £2.08 of our monthly charge towards the rent of the Livebox, are we not entitled to a new livebox after a few years as I suspect wear and tear is kicking in.

Think it has to be completely broke for them to send you a new one... Not sure...
I too have had problems recently getting connected to my livebox. I find I have to change the channel before I log on, then when someone else wants to log on then the channel has to be changed again.
It has only happened recently, before I could get multiple wireless connections, now to do that the channel number has to be re set every time. Its a real pain in the backside because if I am not around then my flatmates struggle to log on.
I know I could leave them the password etc but again its a real pain.

Would turning off the easypairing fix it ?
Only one way to find out..
Do you remember to put the livebox into Pairing mode..? Or are all your wireless connections set to automatically connect.?.. :/
I dont think I know how to put the box into pairing mode. Support told me to press button 1 but that doesnt seem to cure it.
Cheers.
Yeh.. Pressing "1" on the livebox puts it into pairing mode.. One of the lights will steadily flash. Which means you are in pairing mode..
Have you turned off the easy pair to see if this is the issue..?
It's quite a bizzare issue though where the livebox only connects when you change channel.. -.- not one i've come across. When you try to connect.. Do you get any " Local Only " or will it just refuse to connect..
