Every 1-2 hours the wireless connection between my laptop and Livebox drops.
The wireless network connection icon in the laptop would show the connection is still active, but a ping to the Livebox (192.168.1.1) does not respond. The broadband connection stablished by the Livebox does not drop, just only the wireless connection to my laptop.
Repairing the connection i.e. disable and re-enable will reconnect successfully and resolve the problem. It just enoying having to do this all the time! Previously i was using a Belkin wireless router without any issues.
Any ideas how to resolve this? Is anyone else experiencing this?
I have the same problem with dropped connections, but every couple of minutes, and also dropped wireless with live box 12 inches away from PC,
Spent best part of six hours over the last couple of days with customer support blaming everything except the livebox
This morning went back to my Belkin ADSL router - hey presto - no dropped connections full wireless on both pcs no confoguration required, just picked them up!
Phoned CS who have now 'escalated' the problem and sent it to another technical team and they might replace the livebox and will get back to me in around 4 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Will keep you posted on developments
BTW only migrated to Orange on wednesday, they didn't know what day I was migrating told this morning I migrated Friday, but i used them on thursday,
i have the same kind of problem, my livebox loses connectivity when the pc is left idle for any period of time
Received and setup my livebox without any problems, ive got full internet connectivity and local networking is fine between my two pc's (one wired ethernet, one wireless laptop)
However, when either of the PC's are left idle for any length of time (e.g overnight or when laptop goes into standby mode) then i lose all connectivity. The livebox is still connected to the internet fine, so its not a line problem
The laptop can still "see" the wireless connection, and the wired PC still says the local connection is active, but it wont give me any internet connectivity until i restart the pc (or sometimes simply logging in/out will do it). Sometimes as mentioned above, doing a "repair" will also cure the problem
I never had this problem when i was using my previous wireless router, set up in exactly the same 2-PC setup. Its a real pain having to reboot every time i come back to the computer
TRYING CHANGING THE FREQUENCY CHANNELS INSIDE THE LIVEBOX CONFIGURE PAGES THERES 13 CHANNELS THERE SO THE CONNECTION SHOULD IMPROVE AND ARE U QUITE FAR FROM LIVEBOX WITH LAPTOP
yes its blatently nothing to do with the wireless channel, or anything else to do with the wireless side of things, as it effects wired computers in exactly the same way
it seems to lose all ability to resolve DNS when left idle for a few hours
it wont even resolve the adsl.configuration link to the livebox, you have to use the livebox's IP address
first time i heard this problem like unusaul nothin much teq could do on that topic really in our eyes if ya bb works then ya fine mad but thas really it
oh i no so dont like have a go at what i say my isp is ntl and they say the same thing as Orange broadband is faster than dial up BUT u dont have to be supplied with it 24/7 and when u want it as problems occur and thats cable
