Hi all,
The company i work for use Orange broadband and we too have been having problems sending emails via outlook. We use a company email address but have to use the Orange outgoing servers.
I tried every combination and trawled the web (and this site) for the hundreds of threads from Orange customers with the same issue.
Eventually with the SMTP servers changed from smtp.orangehome.co.uk to just smtp.orange.co.uk the email started working and all was great!
About an hour ago i just tried to send an email from one pc to another in the office and started getting the outgoing email errors all over again!!!
What a nightmare!! We are only a small company and are trying to run a business here and it is most frustrating that we can only 'sometimes' send emails.
Most of the threads i have read say the same old thing of "it should be smtp.orangehome.co.uk" etc etc but this just does not work. Orange themselves dont seem to admit there is a problem and all is fine, but what about the thousands of people who cant send emails??!
Is there anything else i can try besides crossing my fingers?
For months now I've used specific IP addresses for SMTP and POP3 with no problems whatsoever >>>>>>>>
POP3 = 193.252.22.136
SMTP = 193.252.22.138
I know that this is a criticism but however big or small a business is, if it relies on an internet connection then use a proper business service not a consumer ISP like Orange. It's not cheap but you rarely get niggly problems and you certainly get better connectivity.
