I have had a lot of problems with my PC so I have reinstalled Windows XP.

However when I plug my Livebox directly into my PC I cannot get the internet to work (won't ping 192.168.1.1) but when I plug it into my Laptop the internet works.

I know the problem is with my PC but does anyone know hat it could be ?

I've tried updating the driver on the 1394 Net Adapter which says its working ok anyway.

I got it working by using a program called WINSOCKSIX which I had run earlier but didn't help then.
