I've been aware for some time that many of my emails aren't arriving. This was determined by comparing with my partner who is subscribed to another ISP and gets many of the same emails. Previously I thought the problem was only with lists and approved bulk mail senders, but it now seems to be also with ordinary mail.
I've checked settings, emptied all the folders, removed all the 'senders marked as spam' which must have been done automatically by Orange.
