I have been having problems sending emails since 10 March. I use Vista and Outlook 2007. My connection is Broadband 2MBPS. ISP is Orange and I only have the one "fsnet" address. Until 10 March send/receive worked well and fast. Now the sending hangs and on only about 1 in 8 times does it send messages. The other seven times i get an error message 0x80042109 "unable to connect with Orange SMTP server". Orange technical people fobbed me off big time, saying all servers were working fine and the problem was with Microsoft. I contacted MS. I tried resetting all email settings as instructed by Orange. I also tried other things. Two friends of mine have the same problem with Orange. They use XP and Outlook Express. An internet expert i have consulted has looked into this and assures me the problem is with Orange but they will not admit it. Unless this gets solved I propose breaking my Orange contract and finding an ISP with whom I can send/receive emails! Does anyone have any advice???

Hi
If you don't mind changing your email address you can open a free Google Mail GMail account you can POP enable it so you can use it same as usual, they use different ports bypassing Oranges servers.
