Tried to link up to wireless, found it on my laptop and says the strength is very good but when open up internet explorer is says it can't detect anything, any advice would be much appreciated.

Errm.. First things first.. You using Vista or XP.. And does it give you Page cannot be displayed?? Secondly.. Go to Tools then Internet Options.. Click the Security Tab..then click Reset all zones to Default Level.
If that doesn't solve the issue..
Go to Network & Sharing if using Vista, Click View Status.. IPv4 should be Internet Enabled.. Click Properties.. Then go to IPv4 and go to properties.. Make sure that everything is set to Auto.. And that should resolve.. If you're using XP then you'll have to supply a few more details.. =] Hope i helped a lil bit..

Did it show the status as connected anywhere?
You need to make sure you've told it to connect, entered the key, pressed the 1 button and can access the pages at 192.168.1.1. After that it should work fine.
