I need to add a MAC/UAA address to my Livebox address page but cannot find out how. Have got into the Inventel pages and through security but can find nothing which resembles what I need. Can anyone talk me through where I need to go and what I need to do? I have the UAA/MAC address code OK from the printer (a Lexmark wireless jobby) which works OK through the USB (eventually!!!).
Am not too techy so be gentle with me!
I must be lucky. Have had no problems with my Livebox and use it very successfully with my Sony Vaio notebook. However, Vista is another issue sometimes!
MAC's cannot be manually added, they have to go through the pairing system. You supply the device, printer in this case, with the SSID, security details and key, press the 1 button on the livebox and tell the printer to connect. When it tries to connect it gets added to the associated devices list automatically.
Thanks SOOOO much for this. It worked first time and I am very grateful! Sorry it's taken so long to respond but have had a number of problems and actually forgot I had posted this question! Long story BUT you're a star!!
Now something new with this. Although the printer seems to be talking OK to the livebox and is showing 'green', when I ask for a print wirelessly, the livebox is obviously not talking back to the computer as it won't print, although the printer is shown as being ready. Any ideas?
Printer communication like this is one way only, there is no communication back to the PC. Sure any firewalls/secuirty are set to allow the connection out ok?
