I just bought an acer aspire 5720 today but it won't connect to my livebox, not even when i turn WEP off! yet i can connect to other networks randomly!
Alright people ive been searching all night, and looked at all the problems people have had with Acers/Orange and i found an awesome post on forum archieve.
To cut a long 9 hour story short, press the pairing button because due to an error Livebox doesnt orginally find acers as a viable device!
What you mean is when you factory reset it removed the pairing between them and with the latest firmware it doesn't go into pairing mode usless you press the button so only managed to reconnect when you pressed it?
I tried to fix it by reseting it to factory settings, and now my brother cant connect wirelessy but he could before:(
Had you changed the WPA or WEP key from the default before you reset it.. If you had.. the laptop is probably still trying to connect using the old WEP/WPA key... If he's using Vista.. Go to Manage Wireless Networks.. Remove it.. And try connecting again with the Security key on the bottom of Livebox.. =]
Bit more info maybe on " Can't cpnnect " Any error messages.. Troubleshooting outcomes e.t.c
