In February I changed my package from 600K to home select, which they claimed would give me speeds of up to 1 meg. However, even after over 20 days they still haven't upgraded my connection. This is not a case of my line having too much noise etc, but that Orange simply refuses to turn on the faster connection. I know this because the guy at technical support admitted to it, and I received an email to my complaints on the 16th which said:
"As per our records we can see that your broadband account is not
activated for speed upto 1meg."
Does this mean they are in breach of contract? I would like to send a formal complaint letter, but I don't know the address. If anyone could help me with this I would be very grateful.

It would be a different story if you said it about your payments, tell them you are not paying for something that they aint providing, seems its Oranges favourite line wait 5 days wait 10 days, ask for the difference back until you get what your paying for.

I won a years subscription to Orange, and my speed went down to 1MB because the "BT speed checker said so". Despite me telling them I could get faster, they refused to budge
After the year was up, I asked for MAC code and they told me I'd get 4MB for £9.99 a month retainer package - so I accepted.
For 3 months I did get 4MB until I was LLU'd, then I went to a 2MB speed. Nothing to do with heavy use or anything, just my speeds were tortoise like after LLU so they put me down. Luckily I renewed when contracts were just 12 months
The only snag is thunderai, you have probably locked yourself into another 18 month contract by switching packages
Yes you are right, I'm now in an 18 month contract
I tried calling technical support again but I can't get any sense out of them. I'm going to send a formal complaint letter stating how this is not a case of slow speeds, but the fact that I am clearly not on the package I am paying for which is a breach of contract.
Thanks for the advice, I'll post here as soon as I get a response from them. If they still won't do anything, what is Orange's ADR scheme and how do I contact them?
