I have had slow internet connection for nearly two weeks now (it has been gradually getting worse over time)
I'm supposed to be on 2MB, but a speed test shows that I am only on 130kb.
Even worse, when I try to phone technical I get person who is merely reading from a troubleshooting page in an attempt to sort my problem.
All the Three computers in my house have this problem, yet the person I am on the phone with always wants me to reset the internet settings on the main computer.
As soon as I tell them I have a Netgear wireless router, they tell me that is what is causing the problem.
After finally convincing Orange, they agreed to send an engineer out (around 10 phone calls later, having to put us through the same questions on the hardware and software settings each time, is there a way of skipping these pointless questions?)
When the BT engineer arived he did some tests and confirmed there was a fault with the line and said it was the master socket which was at fault (which he then changed).
He said after doing this we could expect up to 5mb internet, but would take a few days to achieve this.
The following day we found that the phones have stopped working and the internet has not improved since.
We rang Orange today who told us they could not get an engineer out until the next day, so we will have to be without a phone for at least 24 hours.
We are awaiting for the engineer but I can't see this problem ever being resolved.
