Having finally got out of my contract in mid-December I was miffed to see that I was still being charged for my Orange broadband at £19.99 a month for January and February.
Calls to the customer mis-service department resulted in being told that my account was still active (ON FEB 7th) despite using the supplied MAC code on December 16th.
No refund will be given as they have not charged a cancellation fee. (My contract did have more than 12 months to run in fairness but they couldn't fix the numerous problems encountered for the 6 weeks between November and December)
By my maths they owe me about £50. This is a small price to pay to get away from a bunch of (insert expletive of choice) but I feel that anyone else who has just got away from the worst ISP that I have dealt with, would do well to cancel any direct debits as soon as possible to stop them getting their hands on your money.
I have decided to take this on the chin despite previous phone calls to Orange insisting that the 'cheque was in the post'. I probably should push it further but I am so chuffed to be rid that the champagne has already started flowing!!
