The future of mobile broadband looks promising as latest figures show that sales of USB dongles reached 18,000, matching sales for the whole of September last year.
According to a study carried out by research firm GfK, USB dongle sales (a device that can be plugged into laptops to provide wireless broadband internet access) have been increasing at a steep rate on a week-by-week basis over the last six months.
At the top of the sales tables sit 3, taking half off all the USB sales.
Vodafone and T-Mobile come in at second and third place after they both recently had to lower the price of their dongle to compete with 3.
Increased promotion for these providers seems to have also helped along sales figures.
A recent push from Phones 4u has also seen Orange entering the market with a strong position.
