I am 1.45 km from the Batgate exchance and on the up to 8meg package. I am still using the speedtouch 330 modem with the software update.
The best speed I was getting 3.9meg very late at night, but like everybody else it varied all the way down to 100kb.
I got an e-mail saying they were upgrading the exchange to LLU and feared the worse after reading all the posts.
However I have been pleasently surprised. Since the day they said the work was complete, nearly 4 weeks ago I have been consistantly connecting at 7.1Mbps and my download speed has been between 6 and 6.1 meg. The line has been stable and I have been taking reading every day at various times.
I hope this is not just a trial/testing period and then bang it goes to pot again. Does anyone know if they do a trial time when the exchance is changed, like they do the 10 day test time when you are first connected?
Will changeing to the livebox alter the speed or stability?
