My local exchange recently migrated my connection to LLU and since then I've been having all sorts of hassles. A typical speed test result for me pre-migration would be a download speed of 870kb/s and an upload speed of 370 kb/s. Post-migration, I'm getting around 540 kb/s and 180 kb/s respectively.
I spoke to a chap from Orange customer services dept. this evening and he told me that in calculating the connection speed, both of these figures are added together and therefore 540 + 180 = 720 which is almost 1024 and therefore this is a reasonable result for a 1MB connection. Is this true?!

Don't tell me......he had an Indian accent and his name was Clive.
Ok from those details you were previously on ADSL Max as shown by the upload speed, and probably with a sync rate just over 1 meg so it could profile that.
LLU at that level would naturally get your speed locked rather than being adaptive, I don't know what magin of stability they set so you could have been put on 1/2 meg for it being too close for 1 meg.
Then again if it's only been a couple of days then it may be the connection speed hasn't been fully set yet, it's happened a few times on here where initially it runs slowly but picks up after a few days once the migration is fully complete on the system.
