hoping someone here could help me out. I recently upgraded the firmware for my Speedtouch 580 modem/router and all seems to be working... but when I use the modems own connectivity check, it passes all of them except for;
Connectivity to DNS Server 1 (193.36.79.101) Failed
Connectivity to DNS Server 2 (193.36.79.100) Failed
Now I'm not sure what that means, but my internet seems fine!? But it must be important and would like to get it corrected, any idea what the problem may be, should i be worried about it seeing that all seems to be ok?
DNS servers translate the addresses used online into IP addresses so the site/server in question can be found. If everything's working then it's either an odd result or the check used doesn't work on those servers.

Thanks for the response. Is there anything easy I can test, so to speak, to see that all is working ok, as it APPEARS to be all working fine, websites load, d/l speeds good, Xbox live all ok, but would like to know for sure.
Well if DNS wasn't working then you wouldn't be able to access any websites and most programs wouldn't work at all. You'd quickly know if it wasn't working.
