I have recently transferred a domain to Heart Internet for a client and set up pop3 mailboxes to go with it. These work fine with my Blueyonder broadband connection in Outlook 2002, but when I try to set them up on my client's computers with Orange broadband I get major problems when testing settings.
Under 'send test e-mail' it says the server is found but there's no response
Under 'find incoming (pop3) mail server' it says it's unable to connect, and the same for outgoing (smtp)
Several other clients have set up their Heart email without problems with other providers who use BT lines.
Heart Support say it looks like something is blocking the use email. Can anyone help, please?
Just to clarify you are using the Orange smtp server to send aren't you ? As they won't allow you to send via any other.
Mind you saying that i'd refer you to the thread about the smtp server being up the spout for a whole load of users at the moment
Thank you for your reply. After it dawned on me that they may not allow other smtp servers I tried using the Orange one but that didn't work either. And the broadband is slow, as well as dropping the connection quite frequently, so after discussion today they're moving to PlusNet asap.
