Hi all,
need a new home BB/ Phone package, mobiles also ran out of contract, so the Orange max package is a good buy.... BUT, i just cant seem to find anyone happy.
We live in cornwall & if there are problems in a big city what about the edge of a cliff !!!.
So basically if anyone can shed some light on good points, if is getting any better or DONT do It MAN, let me know. With Tiscali & they are not great but do the job.
Thanx for the help, someone did say that the live box is good technology & will have teething problems..... i do hate dentists though !!
Surfs Up, again thanx.

<<<<<<<<< Try the link "Broadband Packages" in the left menu column, go on to a site, enter your details and see if that ISP will provide your particular clifftop.
The main thing to remember is that you're probably unlikely to be in an LLU area and with broadband already active there's much less chance of problems when migrating.

Orange not bad when everything is working but as soon as something goes wrong technical support prove to be virtually useless and customer support aren't much better. They run through standard check lists and if that doesn't resolve the issue they will try a line test, if that doesn't work they are stuck.
My advice having recently escaped is not to touch them unless there is no alternative.

Hello telluride.
Welcome to OrangeProblems.co.uk
To add to the coments above, it really depends what you want from your broadband provider...
If it is speed, then you can check out the average speeds for your area on an Orange up to 8Meg service on our regional Orange broadband speed pages or on our Orange up to 8Meg Area Broadband Speeds pages. - Note: You need to be logged in to view these statistics (there are more statistics available too!).
If you are not sure exactly what you need, then take a look at the broadband packages page which lists many broadband providers, as mentioned above. If you use the information icon on a package that you feel you may be interested in, you will be taken to a page that runs through the most wanted services on broadband packages and the page will tell you whether these options are available on that particular package.
If you are unsure of anything, feel free to post back as many here on OrangeProblems.co.uk will be willing to assist you.
I've generally been pretty happy with my Wanadoo/Orange Broadband - though the comments about support are accurate. However I'm having problems at the moment and as I have seen out my contract period I'm thinking of moving to the basic BT package which seems to give me as much as Orange for less £££s a month. Any thoughts anyone might have on my move to BT would also be approeciated.

I moved to BT when Orange were unable or unwilling to resolve my lack of connection problem. The process was fairly painless and BT were quick to identify that I had a connection problem and sent an engineer round to fix it, which he did in less than 30 minutes. He also did a full test of my wiring and doubled my connection speed (512 to 1.0).
Overall my experience of BT has been good, Reliable connection and constant download speed.
