hi folks.
i have one pc hard wired, one laptop wireless and one pc wireless, all connected to my new Orange livebox and all working well until i shut the computers down.
the wired pc reconnects no problem,
the laptop reconnects no problem,
the wireless pc doesn't..........every time i turn the wireless pc back on i have to reinstall the livebox (enter code, press button 1,etc)
it makes no difference if the other computers are on or not.
none of the connections seem to dropafter a period of time,
infact all is well except the above issue.
any help would be good, many thanks.
mick.
The PC itself should save the settings required to connect to the wireless connection, if it was to do with the livebox then at worst in that senario you'd just need to put it in pairing mode to get the connection to re-establish.
To me it sounds more like it's a software/driver problem on the PC itself. What adapter is it and have you tried uninstalling and completely reinstalling it?

DID YOU SORT THIS PROBLEM OUT AS I'M HAVING THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM, I HAVE TO RE-SET UP THE LIVEBOX EVERYTIME I BOOT THE MACHINE UP?

i have been away from home for a few days so i have not had a chance yet,

If the wireless connection goes like that simply press the 1 button on the livebox so the antenna light flashes and then tell your wireless to connect.
If it can't connect it's more likely a problem with the PC, if it can then it could be a pairing problem with the livebox. You can work around the pairing side by, if it continues to happen within the:
Configuration > Advanced > Wireless
section setting pairing/association mode to infinite.
Taking the limit off the pairing timeout does indeed solve the problem in so much that it can now pair up again each time without me having to press the button. I do wonder why it refused to store the connection details for the laptops but was happy to hold on to them for the wireless desktop?
