The customer number seems pretty obvious (although it seems to change - is it related to IP address?) The 'town' is the town, but what are the ABC1234 and BAS0001 bits?
None of these seem to have anything to do my local exchange.
It's just the hostname for your connection, like IP it can change dynamically. When you connect it just gives you the next customer1234 number available.
The ABC and BAS codes probably just refer to servers being used for the connection. I guess they either don't change or change through a small set of listings?
