I have just upgraded to Windows Vista Home premium. A minor problem is that when I click on my Orange Broadband connection Icon, (Speed Touch ADSL Modem) my user name is remembered but not my password. I have tried everything I can to rectify this, any ideas ? It just creates an irritating rejection every time before I am given the chance to enter the password and retry. Thanks.

Next time you have to put it in untick the save password first then type it in, dont retick it until the next time you connect put in your password then tick save it then it should remember it. i hope u understood that as it was the only way i could explain it.

Thanks Steve - unfortunately I don't see a box to tick or untick. I see the Speed Touch Dial Up Box with Connection and User name filled in, but not password. The other thing I can do is click on Connections, Properties, and then I see boxes for user name, password, opening URL etc. BUT putting in the Password doesn't save ?? Same if I use Connection, ADD.

Hi kj1leisure
Double click on your connection icon by the clock bottom right and choose properties you might be able to sort it from there ( im not sure as i havn't used a usb modem for a long time) if not
If you create a new connection it should appear
Control Panel>Network Connections
in the Network Tasks menu choose "Create a new connection" in the wizard choose Connect to the internet click next and then choose "Set up my connection manually" then follow the prompts which are self explanatary and the end of the sequence you should have a box to tick called "Save tis username and password".

Thanks again Steve. After much tinkering I have managed to get the password saved. I don't get an option for properties through the connection icon in the tray, but somehow managed to do it through Control Panel / Network and Sharing.
Cheers !
Now to sort the 1001 problems nothing to do wh Orange !
