I haven't actually had any problems connecting to the few Liveboxes I have configured for friends and family, just wanted to share what support told me about available encryption on the box.
Basically I wanted to be able to use passphrases instead of 26 character hex keys when using WPA encryption, so I emailed support asking why this wasn't possible and if there would be any firmware updates to make this possible. After a few exchanges, due to them not clearly understanding what I meant and I still reckon they haven't a clue due to the last reply I got:
Thank you for your email.
We will certainly help you.
Kindly provide us what version of Windows are you using. If you are
using Windows XP the security will be WEP and if using Windows Vista the
security level will be WPA.
If you have any further queries then please do not hesitate to get in
contact with us again.
Even with all this, I am still planning to get the Home Select package as I have been happy with what I've seen with service the people I've helped have got.
A quick question regarding the voip side. Can I use my own devices to use the Orange voip service? I couldn't find the settings on any Livebox I've looked at.

What devices do you mean exactly ? and what settings are you after ?
if its what i think you mean then ..Its pretty much plug n go, and i use my own cordless phone plugged in.
But can you give a little more info to my two questions above please if im wrong. Thanks fatherted.
What I mean is I don't want to use the Livebox as I currently have a very good router and I have been using it in combination with a voip telephone adapter. I am just wondering if Orange make the voip settings public or if anyone knows them?

Will be positive that someone knows the settings, There has got to be someone who has cracked the Livebox and willing to share their findings!
I have already asked Orange support but ignored my question but they did give me a couple of links regarding firmware updates.
You could use a Draytek box that allows you to use a SIP VoIP username. However if you did this you would not have the "second Line" free calling that Orange provide. If you are wanting the "free" calling that the Orange second line offers you need to use the Live box (unfortunatly).
Also what you probably want to do is combine the Orange second line and your normal "BT" line together so you can use the one phone for both lines. To do this you want a Commsolutions SDN BHD.
Only problem we have with the "second Line" is that when on a call the internet connection drops and automatically re-connects. This of course dropps the call. Bl*****y frustrating.
