A while ago, like many I had the speedtouch 1MB deal with wanadoo. After Orange took over everything went bad. I eventually complained so much that they upgraded us to their 8MB Livebox package for the same price as the Speedtouch package.
I've had this for about 1 1/2 years now and its been okay. But I have been recently beenwondering whether Orange bothered to upgrade my connection speed when they sent me out the Livebox. I receive 1941kbps download speed and 232kbps upload. Is it possible that they havn't upgraded my speed yet? Is it possible for the Livebox to run at the Speedtouch speed or is it just where I live (even though its in the centre of a capitol city). And my final question: From www.speedtest.net, what are you other Livebox users getting as your true speed?
Those sorts of speeds would suggest a 2 meg connection but not the network type. However I highly doubt it's ADSL Max. A year and a half ago Orange didn't use ADSL Max, you'd only get higher than 2 meg if you were on an LLU line otherwise you'd get put on 1/2, 1 or 2 meg and thats what it would stay at.
Try running a BT speedtest, ( http://speedtester.BT.com/ ) that should pretty much confirm things with the 4 values it reports, if you can't then we need the line stats from your livebox but these would also help with estimating your potential best line speed.
