Hi there i've been having problems with getting the speeds i should be and been looking online for help and just found this site by chance. I saw in one of the threads the BT speedtest - http://speedtester.BT.com went on it and after checking my phone number it comes up :-
The login name entered on this tool doesnt match that discovered by querying the network for your domain name. Please check your telephone number (or user name) and try again. If problem persists please contact your CP.
Any ideas as i think after many many years of having both i would know my phone number and also my username
Might i say what relief to know its not just me going through the crap from Orange
I did put the @fs at the end but still nowt .... i've think i tried the broadband choices one ...... actually i've lost count of how many different ones i've tried
Sadly i'm at work now so will have to wait till i get home to give it a go again
I'll let you know what the outcome is - not that i'm expecting miracles ie: over 2mb
For the URL you're using, you input your phone number and then at the next stage, if you get past it, is where you input your login name with the @fs on the end
Like ciderfex says, this does not work if you're on LLU. I assume this is true of all LLU providers such as Be etc?
I presume i'm on LLU as it accepted my phone number then at the next page i put in my log in name with the @fs and thats when it came back with the error.
I thought i was quite clued up with pc's but i hadn't heard of LLU till coming on here. I'm guessing it's a bad thing to be on LLU as no-one on this is getting the speed they should be.
Would Orange tell me if i was on LLU?

Do you use a router or a modem? If you use a router, what is your upstream connection speed?
Be use LLU - I've seen speeds around 15 MB download being quoted here
I'm still using the livebox i got from wanadoo - just checked through another link and it says my exchange doesn't support the Orange LLU so maybe i'm not on that
I wont be able to check any speeds for another hour as i'm still at work
Damn Sunday trading lol
ok i've just been into my livebox and it says my downstream should be 6048kbps and my upstream 448kbps.
Just done yet another speedtest and its coming back at 0.6mb
Well i'm due to make my daily phone call to them yet again so i'l keep you updated
ok just called yet again ..... no surprises what i was told, yeah thats right call back in 24hrs. Saying that he did guarantee (100% might i add) i would have my speeds tomorrow!!! I wont hold my breath though.
It is llu adsl+2 but they know what they are doing with it All llu means I believe is that they have put their own equipment in your exchange and connected you to it.
Oh nice one. With the new price cuts, I am tempted to jump ship out of my contract early since I am on a deal. I just hope everyone else doesn't jump onto the same bandwagon. I assume speedtester.BT.com works with Be? I do like to keep an eye on my profile...
Talking of getting out early, I'm assuming I can ask them when my contract is up. I've accidentally deleted the emails that said I was in a 12 month contract, and they are not on my oldest backup either. I just want a record of this in writing...
