We'll be updating your Livebox with some new software during the next few weeks.
The update will happen between 13th February and 6th March 2008. Please keep your
Livebox switched on ready for the update, but don't worry if you can't, as it'll update
automatically next time you switch it on.
The update takes about 10 minutes and you might notice that the lights on your
Livebox will flash continuously - but this is completely normal and nothing to worry
about. It's important that you don't turn your Livebox off when it starts receiving the
update.
If you happen to be using the Internet at the time of the software update, you'll lose
connection but only for the duration of the update and then you'll be back up and running.
If you have any difficulties during the update, just give us a call on 0844 873 8586*
and we'll help you sort it out.
The main part of the update is to allow for the digital tv service along with some minor changes to the wireless systems.
Pairing mode will only be activated by the 1 button now, not automatically on restarting the box and there's something called easy pairing mode, which isn't going to be used.
Oh yeah and they're getting rid of any references to bluetooth that remain.
Yes I had one of those updates & it has wrecked my phone connection !
I have a Belkin skype phone which only works with 'security' in the livebox switched off, after the Orange update the livebox will not retain this setting , so to use the phone I have to physically log onto Inventel & switch it off.
Also for some reason Orange are now making it difficult to enter the Inventel site & sometimes the admin password does not get accepted .
As I like to do the 'green thing & switch off all connections at night this is not at all convenient.
Secondly I live in Brittany & would love to find another provider for ADSL if anyone knows of a company other than Orange /France telecom I would be delighted to hear from them.
Orange have the most abysmal aftersales & treat us all like idiots..

France use a different firmware and they've had the TV service running for a lot longer than it's been in trial over here. Sounds like a recovery of your livebox might be a good starting point.
