I'm running 4 windows pc's on wireless, two of which are fine, but the other two don't seem to be recognised by livebox as they don't appear in the list of associated devices. I can connect to the network and the internet ok from them while in pairing mode, but I have to keep pairing mode enabled all the time which obviously means lower security. The other computers on the network see them ok and livebox obviously sees them to the extent of allowing a connection but it just doesn't seem to want to store them as paired devices. Any ideas?
You could try resetting the livebox and seeing if it'll then pair up correctly.
Or even, using the installed software from the CD, recover the livebox firmware to see if that helps sort it out.
You can put it into permanent pairing mode from the config pages, it's not really any less secure as MAC filtering isn't a real security feature. Anyone who can get around the key is likely able to get around MAC filtering pretty easily too.
