I have recently signed up for oranges free broadband service and have a few question about the livebox phone calls.
As I understand it you plug a standard phone into your livebox and you get a new phone number on which you can make your free (off peak) calls.
Could someone confirm this is the case?
Also if this is the case is it possible for me to recieve caller id when people call me through the new live box number?
My intention is to set up a call divert on my BT landline to divert all calls to the livebox number so I only need to have one phone for making and receiving calls.
Any ideas suggestions on whether this is a good idea?
yeah you should have been told your 0845 number and voicemail pin
then you need to plug a normal phone into the adaptor and plug that into your livebox
when you pickup the phone you will hear a few short beeps which confirms the call will go through the voip and not through your BT system
you can check your voip status and number on the livebox config pages (192.168.1.1)
