Hi, I have tried changing my port from 25 to 26,2525,587,465 and a couple of others.
I have tried using smtp.orangehome.co.uk, smtp.orange.net, smtp.wanadoo.co.uk, smtp.freeserve.net. smpt.freeserve.com, 193.252.22.138 (139,140 & 141), all to no avail.
I have tried telnet'ing combinations of the above, all ending in failed connection, and have tried this on two computers.
Hi, yes to all the above, I've had to resort to Orange webmail to send outgoing mails, I used to use outlook express (still receive mails in OE) and would very much like to get back to it again

Try deleting your account and carefully setting it back up again
leave it at port 25
SMTP 193.252.22.138
Be sure your account name and pass is correct to.
Also make sure your firewall isnt blocking outgoing.
any anti virus/spam software handling the email after you try and send it?
It's been known to happen where standard updates somehow cause problems preventing email being sent.
Hi. I live in the USA & my friend lives in the UK. She has an e-mail through orangehome.co.uk Recently we have been having problems.
She keeps sending me e-mails but I am not receiving them, although they are never returned to her as undeliverable. Please can anyone give us some help as to what is going on or what we can do? Thanks!
I believe that Orange have deleted/disconnected that part of the server software.
Apparently nobody is receiving "not delivered" messages....
I do not know if anybody noticed or have the same problem:
I do have 2x Orange connections (home and business - not for long!) and email outgoings (SMTP !) has been very slow for sometime (a couple of months.
i.e. - you send 1 or 10 emails, then Outlook window appears and I counted - first 7 before it starts to 'actually' send them out, then 15 and then last (possibly) Monday 17 Dec. 2007 or Friday 14 Dec. 2007 morning they were 'OBVIOUSLY' working on the mail servers.
Then in the afternoon it started to 'finally' go straight away (as it should!) and I thought.
Oh, all the protests may have started to work - too easy.
The next day it started again 15 seconds and today has beaten all 21 seconds!
